Imani Perry's American Like Me is a powerful and moving memoir that explores the complexities of identity, culture, and belonging. Perry writes with honesty and insight about her experiences as a black woman in America, and her struggle to find her place in a society that often sees her as an outsider.
Perry was born in Birmingham, Alabama, during the height of the Civil Rights Movement.
